Incremental games news, releases, updates, and commentary for the week ending Fri Aug 08 2025
Weekly highlights

Howdy and welcome to this little test newsletter! I'd appreciate your feedback on it. This little blurb will be where I mention anything particularly notable about the last newsletter cycle - for example, if this were a real newsletter I might mention that the GMTK jam just wrapped up and are likely many small incremental game entries due to the theme being "loop". It could also be where I mention the games I'm most personally excited to have played or be playing, as distinct from what I decided to feature down below (which can contain games I am not interesting in playing for whatever reason).

Right now my biggest concern is that the list of games feels very empty. There isn't much information about each game, but I'm not sure how best to handle it - any extra information I show will be increasingly complex scraping from various sources. I can probably get, say, a cover photo for each game, but I'm not sure I could get a description for each that would be similarly concise across platform and game. I also need to start scraping more than just itch - working on steam as we speak.

If you're reading this, hi :) I'm thinking of making this a monthly newsletter so each issue can be posted on the subreddit. That would be less work for me as well, but perhaps miss events that happen less than a month from their announcement. I'd also have to be more discerning with which games to feature in the newsletter, since there's a LOT of releases in a month.

Happy clicking!
